Project Overview

The Town of Riga is southwest of Rochester in Monroe County, New York. In 1992, the Monroe County Water Authority began working with Larsen Engineers, Rochester, NY, to plan a water storage project for the Town of Riga. After careful research of available solutions and their costs and benefits, the project team selected Preload’s AWWA D110 Type III prestressed concrete water storage tank as the optimal solution for water storage.

In 1994, Preload designed and built a high-profile 4.0 MG tank, with an inside diameter of 96.5’ and a side water depth of 73’. After more than 20 years, this tank continues to withstand the extreme New York winters, and to meet the rising demand for more water supply in the area.
