7.5 MG Ground Storage Tank at 59th Street

The City of Galveston, Texas is a coastal resort city and port off the southeast Texas coast on Galveston Island and Pelican Islands.

In 2018, the City partnered with Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation, Houston, TX, to select Preload to build a 7.5MG Water Storage Tank. Located off 59th St at an existing tank facility, this project was commissioned to ensure water storage for their utility customers.

The 7.5MG ground storage tank is an AWWA D110 Type III prestressed concrete tank and was selected because of its long-term durability and low cost of maintenance. The ground storage tank specification was unique as it was designed to withstand hurricane force winds and tidal wave action in the event of flooding from the Gulf of Mexico.
