Plan, direct, coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems for water, wastewater, and industrial clients. Participate in the development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time and within budget constraints.
Role Responsibilities
Collaborate with supervisory personnel, owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, or vendors to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, construction schedules, or construction quality.
Implement new or modified construction schedules in response to delays, bad weather, or construction site issues.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines.
Prepare and submit estimates of construction progress, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with clients, subcontractors or vendors.
Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with internal safety, quality and productivity requirements or other external regulations.
Investigate delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being following.
Apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses.
Direct and supervise construction project personnel.
Oversee the requisition supplies or materials to complete construction projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD, Database software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software. Scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or similar, and Word Processing software.
OSHA (10 hour/minimum); E.I.T.
Ability to travel is required. The amount of travel required varies but could be as much as 3 to 4 days per week, 2 to 3 weeks per month. Must be knowledgeable in the various building codes and standards including; American Water Works Association D-110, ACI 318; ACI 350, ACI 372R; local and state building code, as well as, project specific requirements.
