PRELOAD, LLC, the leader in prestressed concrete tank design and construction, announced the City of Fort Worth’s 5.0 MG Caylor Road Tank as the winner of the inaugural Preload Concrete Decision Award making it PRELOAD’s Top Tank for 2016.  “Preload is pleased to support Water for People through this donation on behalf of the City of Fort Worth” said Ryan Harvey, Chief Executive Officer of Preload.  “It was a pleasure to work in partnership with the City and their consulting engineer, Kimley- Horn and we are excited to celebrate our teamwork together with this donation to a cause that we all share a common commitment to”.  Preload completed the finished water storage tank, in the spring of 2016 working as a subcontractor to North Texas Contracting, Inc. Kimley-Horn was the consulting engineer for the project.  The City of Fort Worth’s tank was won the award by receiving the most votes from the general public among the fourteen tanks nominated for the Concrete Decision Award.

The City of Fort Worth made a Concrete Decision by electing to construct the latest in Prestressed Concrete Tank technology, an AWWA D110, Type III Wire-wound Prestressed Concrete tank with a precast concrete core wall. “It’s an honor to win the 2016 Concrete Decision Award, which brings positive attention to our community and critical infrastructure that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves,” Farida Goderya, P.E., senior project manager at the City of Fort Worth. “We are thrilled to support Water for People in association with PRELOAD and the Water Buffaloes as they continue to raise awareness and promote safe water and sanitation across the world.” The 122 foot diameter, 58 foot tall tank was includes the striking Fort Worth longhorn logo painted on the side. The tank will serve as a landmark in the community and provide the citizens of Fort Worth with a water storage solution which will ensure decades of low maintenance, durable and reliable service.

Preload introduced the inaugural Concrete Decision Award competition this year which crowns the Top Tank of the previous calendar year. The award combines an interactive competition between nominated tank projects with Preload’s commitment and support of Water For People. PRELOAD will recognize the Concrete Decision made by the community/utility through a partnership with the Water Buffalos and an associated $3,000 donation to Water For People. A customized, project specific tank patch will be displayed prominently on the shoulder of the Water Buffalos’ vests as they make their annual journey across the country to ACE 2017. The contribution is made in the name of the winning community/utility; however, Preload will also contribute $2,000 to the Regional Water For People Section in the State where the 2016 Top Tank is located. These donations, in total of $5,000, will support Water For People’s stated Mission “to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments.”
