Project Overview

Chili, NY

The Town of Chili, a suburb of Rochester, is in Monroe County, New York. To accommodate the community’s steadily growing population and demand for water, the Monroe County Water Authority began working with Larsen Engineers, Rochester, NY, in 1992. After researching available options and their costs and benefits, the project team selected Preload to design and build an AWWA D110 Type III wire-wound prestressed concrete water storage tank for its proven cold-climate performance and economy of ownership.

Built-in 1994, this 3.0 MG Preload tank has an inside diameter of 110’ and a side water depth of 42’. With Preload’s superior design and construction, this tank will continue to withstand the extreme New York winters for many decades to come.
