Project Overview

Wolfeboro, NH

Wolfeboro is a resort area nestled on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. In recent years, the Town of Wolfeboro has experienced an increase of visitors and residents, resulting in a higher demand for water supply and storage. Working with Stearns & Wheler, Nashua, NH, the Town decided to add a 1.0 MG water storage tank to meet this demand. After carefully researching available options, the Town and consulting engineers specified an AWWA D110 Type III wire-wound prestressed concrete tank because of its low cost of ownership, pleasing aesthetic appearance, and long-term durability. Preload, with more than 80 years of experience designing and constructing prestressed concrete tanks, was selected as the preferred tank builder.

Built in 1995, this Preload tank has an inside diameter of 80.3’ and a side water depth of 28’. Its design features internal pre-cast concrete baffle walls to optimize chlorine contact time. Preload provides today’s most advanced baffle wall tank designs to satisfy Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) regulations for disinfection.
