Project Overview

Dover, NH

The City of Dover needed a water storage tank that would withstand the brutal winters and hot summers of the Northeast. It hired Underwood Engineers, Portsmouth, NH, to lead this project. After carefully researching available options, Underwood specified an AWWA D110 Type III prestressed concrete tank because of proven performance during extreme climate conditions. Preload, which has designed and constructed prestressed concrete tanks since the 1930’s, was selected as the preferred tank builder.

Built in 2011, this relatively tall water storage tank has a 770,000 gallon capacity, a side water depth of 74’ and an inside diameter of only 42’. Like all Preload tanks, this tank is constructed for superior efficiency and durability throughout the structure.
