Project Overview

Salem, IN is situated in south central Indiana in Washington County. In 2019 the City partnered with Wessler Engineering located in Indianapolis, IN to design improvements to an existing water treatment plant which included a new 400,000 gallon reservoir, filter building, a high-service pumping building and two new 56-ft diameter clarifiers. After researching available options, the project team specified an AWWA D110 Type III prestressed concrete tank because of its long-term durability and low cost of maintenance. Preload, which has designed and constructed prestressed concrete tanks since the 1930’s was selected as the preferred tank builder.

This Preload finished water storage tank has an inside diameter of 50.0’ and a side water depth of 26.75’. This durable Preload tank will serve the residents of Eden Prairie for many decades to come.
