The North Alamo Water Supply Corporation (NAWSC) is a water and wastewater Texas corporation formed to serve customers in eastern Hidalgo County, Willacy County, and northwestern Cameron County.
In 2019, NAWSC, partnered with Melden and Hunt, Inc., Edinburg, TX, to design a project for a 2.0 MG water storage tank at their Water Treatment Plant #4. The ground storage tank was part of a plant improvements project to increase storage capacity for the areas surging demand.
After researching available options, the project team specified an AWWA D110 Type III prestressed concrete tank because of its long-term durability and low cost of maintenance. Preload, which has designed and constructed prestressed concrete tanks since the 1930’s, was selected as their tank builder.
