Project Overview

Waco, TX

The City of Waco, Texas is located on the Brazos River halfway between Dallas and Austin and is the birthplace of Dr. Pepper, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Additionally, Baylor University is in Waco and has recently garnered national attention to the popular Magnolia Market at the Silos.

To keep up with rising demand, The City partnered with The Wallace Group, Inc., A CP&Y Company, Waco, TX, to design (2) 2.0MG prestressed concrete ground storage tanks. Preload was selected in 2017 and they were constructed for The City of Waco at their 100-year-old Hillcrest Pump Station site. The project was a multi-year and phased process providing the City with the ability to provide its customers with better flow and water quality. The project was part of the City’s “Building Waco” 10-year Capital Improvement Program.

The (2) 2.0MG ground storage tanks are AWWA D110 Type III prestressed concrete tank and were selected because of their long-term durability and low cost of maintenance.
