Fullerton Finished Water Reservoirs

In 2020, Preload successfully completed the largest prestressed concrete tank reservoir project in the history of the industry. As the General Contractor of this $75,000,000+ project, Preload was responsible for all aspect of project execution including: excavation of over 1,000,000 yd3 of soil, installation of large diameter, interconnections, vault structures, sodium-hypochlorite disinfection facility, electrical, instrumentation & various other project aspects. The three AWWA D110, Type 3 prestressed concrete reservoirs were each 22,000,000 gallons with column supported, flat-slab roofs and double concentric ‘C’ precast concrete baffle walls. The structural tank floor was designed to support the interior concrete baffle walls & roof columns.

Preload’s Area Manager, Bob Barbarisi and Project Engineer, Sean Vorsteg coordinated multiple subcontractors while managing a demanding schedule and maintaining environmental compliance. Brett Henning, PE worked with the project engineer, Gannett Fleming, to develop a final tank design which met owner’s goals for design, function, aesthetics and long-term durability. Daniel Almanza directed the largest on-site crew of craftsmen in Preload history to construct the tanks efficiently and within the project schedule.
