Project Overview

Clermont, OH

Clermont County, Ohio’s furthest county west in Appalachia, is part of the Cincinnati, OH-KY-IN metropolitan statistical area. In 2005, the Clermont County Sanitary District teamed up with Stantec, Cincinnati, to design an equalization basin to help regulate the flow rate to the wastewater treatment plant during times of heavy rainfall. The structure needed to be durable enough to withstand the extreme Midwest weather conditions. After researching available alternatives and long-term costs and benefits, Stantec specified an AWWA D110 Type III wire-wound prestressed concrete tank. Preload, with more than 80 years of experience designing and constructing concrete tanks, was selected as the preferred tank builder.

This 3.0 MG Preload tank has an inside diameter of 131’ and a side water depth of 28’. Like all Preload tanks, this equalization basin is designed and constructed for superior efficiency and durability throughout the structure.
